Elizabeth Barrett, an English poet of the Romantic Movement, was born in 1806 at Coxhoe Hall, Durham, England. The oldest of twelve children, Elizabeth was the first in her family born in England in over two hundred years. For centuries, the Barrett family had lived in Jamaica, where they owned sugar plantations and had slave labor to run them. Elizabeth's father was Edward Barrett Moulton Barrett, who chose to raise his family in England, while his fortune grew in Jamaica. Elizabeth was educated at home, and had read passages from a number of Shakespearean plays, among other great works, before the age of ten. By her twelfth birthday she had written her first epic poem, which consisted of four books of rhyming couplets. Two years later Elizabeth developed a lung ailment that plagued her for the rest of her life. Doctors began treating her with morphine, which she would use until she died. While riding a pony when she was fifteen, Elizabeth also suffered a spinal injury. Throughout h er teenage years, Elizabeth taught herself Hebrew so that she could read the Old Testament. Her interests then later turned to Greek studies. Accompanying her appetite for the classics was a passionate enthusiasm for her Christian faith. She became active in the Bible and Missionary Societies of her church. In 1826 Elizabeth then anonymously published her collection An Essay on Mind and Other Poems. Two years after that her mother passed away. The slow abolition of slavery in England and mismanagement of the plantations depleted the Barrett's income. In 1832 Elizabeth's father sold his rural estate at a public auction. He moved his family to a coastal town and rented cottages for the next three years, before settling permanently in London. While living on the sea coast, Elizabeth published her translation of Prometheus Bound (1833), by the Greek dramatist Aeschylus. Gaining notoriety for her work in the 1830's, Elizabeth continued to live in her father's London house under his tyran nical rule. He began sending Elizabeth's younger siblings to Jamaica to help with the family's estates. Elizabeth bitterly opposed slavery and did not want her siblings sent away. During this time, she wrote The Seraphim and Other Poems (1838), expressing Christian sentiments in the form of classical Greek tragedy. Due to her weakening disposition she was forced to spend a year at the sea of Torquay accompanied by her brother Edward.

Labor, Stocks and Bonds

According to the basic law of demand and supply, increases in the real wage rate or the price of labor must decrease the quantity of labor demanded, as employers find it increasingly expensive to hire more people.   Would increases in the real wage rate, therefore, decrease the productivity of the firm, that is, the number of the outputs that it produces? – Not necessarily. This is where the assumption of diminishing marginal product of labor steps in to save the firm from significantly reducing its supply of outputs.   Marginal product of labor refers to the â€Å"increase in output produced from a given capital stock when an additional worker is employed (â€Å"Marginal Product of Labor†).†Ã‚   On the other hand, diminishing marginal product of labor means that â€Å"each additional labor hour results in less and less extra output (â€Å"Costs of Production†).   This assumption is explained by the popular saying, ‘Too many cooks spoil the broth.’   Thus, the firm does not need to increase its demand for labor beyond a certain number in any case. Stocks and Bonds The dissimilarity between stocks and bonds is explained by the difference between â€Å"owning and lending (â€Å"The Difference Between a Stock and a Bond†).†Ã‚   The purchaser of a stock is a part owner of the company whose stock he has bought.   He gets to vote on the way the company should be run, and enjoy dividends in addition to â€Å"capital appreciation† as a participator in its success (â€Å"The Difference Between a Stock and a Bond†). Of course, he gets to participate in the failures of the company to boot, through lower dividends and stock prices.   The purchaser of a bond, on the contrary, will be paid before the stockholders in the case of company failure.   He has lent money to the company after all.   The company, in turn, promises to repay its loan at a fixed time, with interest.   Even so, the purchaser of the bond does not enjoy extra interest when the company performs exceptionally well (â€Å"The Difference Between a Stock and a Bond†). The ads show a group of girls talking in a dorm room, student hanging out on the lawn building good friendship with their fellow student. A clip shows a University of Tennessee game seems their team won a game, everyone is wearing orange and white. A group of boys heading to the old building seems like it their dorm room. There is a young girl in the lab, she mostly working on a project. The last clip shows student hanging out after hours in the city. The university also build relationship with the community. The university get involved with the community by working with the with the youth. University believe the youth is the future by getting involved tell the young children that University of Tennessee is for them. The school can pass the torch to them by doing that can help the university thrive. Also, students getting involved can provide that they care about their community. The students show some leadership with the youth in community. They show that no child is left behind, everyone is welcome to University of Tennessee. Volunteer give pride in their school.
